Mozart by candlelight

December 16 at 19:30-20:30

Price description

3.500

Camerarctica holds its annual candlelight concert in churches just before Christmas and this is the third year that they come to Hvalsnekirkja.
The group has played sweet music by Mozart for thirty-two years and many find it indispensable to come from the middle of the Christmas rush into the peace and candlelight at dusk. The group this time consists of Ármann Helgason clarinetist, Hildigunnur Halldórsdóttir and Bryndís Pálsdóttir violinists, Svava Bernharðsdóttir viola, Sigurður Haldórsson cellist and guest is Sigríður Hjördís Indriðadóttir flutist. The program includes two magnificent chamber works by Mozart: Quintet for clarinet and strings in A major, kv 581 and Quartet for flute and strings in D major, kv 285.
As usual, the concert ends with Camerarctica playing the good Christmas hymn "Today is happy in sad hearts" by Mozart.
At the concert, only candlelight is used.
The concert is an hour long and starts at 19:30. Admission is ISK 3500 and free for children up to the age of eighteen. Tickets are sold at the entrance.
Hot chocolate and cookies served by Kaffi Gola after the concert.
