The road to Grindavik closed for construction Thursday and Friday
The closure can affect those visiting the Blue Lagoon, Grindavik and the eruption site.

Between 05:00 on Thursday 27th and 17:00 on Friday 28th of July, both lanes on Grindavíkurvegur (43) will be paved. The road will be closed to the north at Nesvegur (425) both days and traffic to Grindavík from Reykjanesbraut will be directed towards Grindavík on the available lane. It will also be closed from Norðurljósvegur (426) to Grindavíkurvegur (43).
There will be a detour via Nesvegur (425), Hafnavegur (44), Reykjanesbraut (1) and Krýsuvíkurvegur (42).
The closure can affect the schedule of those planning to visit the Blue Lagoon, the town of Grindavik and the eruption site. Be advised to adjust your schedule.
Appropriate signs about detours will be installed.
