At the entrance to the town of Garður, right at the town's border, you can see the artwork Skynjun (e. Sensation) by Ragnhildur Stefánsdóttir. The sculpture depicts a six-meter-tall woman built up out of many women. This work symbolises all women who have waited for their loved ones to return from the sea. It was unveiled in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the village in 2008.
