New and adventurous Volcano run
Next Sunday 4. July starts the REYKJANES VOLCANO ULTRA - America to Europe which is a new and fun off-road run. The run is unique insofar that competed will be in four distances to the eruption, 100km, 50km, 30km, and 10km. The 10km run is suitable for anyone where the ring goes around the so-called Gálgaklettar, up the mountain Þorbjörn, and ends back in Grindavík. The weather forecast looks great for this weekend, up to 16 degrees celsius which is great Icelandic summer weather!
These are the timings of REYKJANES VOLCANO ULTRA :
- 100km run starts at midnight 3. July (Saturday night)
- 50km run starts at. 9.00. Sunday morning.
- 30km run starts at. 10.00. Sunday morning.
- 10km run starts at. 11.00. Sunday morning.
The beginning and the end of all the runs will be in front of the restaurant Salthúsið in Grindavík. After the competition, Salthúsið will offer special prices for food and drinks for competitors. Extractive trophies, music, and fun can be expected!
The swimming pool of Grindavík is beside the restaurant Salthúsið and is a great way to relax fatigued feet in the hot tub or in the ice bath after the run. The pool is open until 19:00 (7 pm) on Sunday.
Everything you need for the run such as flakes can be found in Salhúsið Grindavík on race day and also on Saturday between 13:00 and 15:00 in Hafnarportið, 101 Reykjavík.
