Updates will be posted when changes occur.

The local authorities have reconsidered the closure post on the road no. 427 Suðurstrandarvegur, and it has now  been relocated to the parking P1 by Festarfjall.

This action allows visitors to access the hiking trails in Mt. Fagradalsfjall to explore the previous eruption sites, Selatangar, Húshólma, Krýsuvíkurbjarg (cliffs) and more.

Please take note: From path A there is good view to the ongoing eruption. Visitors are asked not to aproach the new eruptionsite from Mt. Fagradalsfjall, as the area is closed for public, there are no safe hiking trails leading to it and the area is not safe to cross as now cracks have appeard in the ground due to the sceizemic activity in the area.
